Afraid of crowds? Virtual Reality may let you join without leaving home

Terrorism and technology will make joining a crowd seem as outmoded and perilous as getting in a fistfight, or having sex for the first time on your wedding night. To be clear, we’re talking about actual crowds—the kind where hundreds or thousands of flesh-and-blood people converge on a physical place for fun or to make a point.
